Tear Drop Trailer

The project started with a $150 purchase from a listing on Facebook. I drove to Provo at 10 pm to get it. I wasn’t sure I was going to make it home in one piece as it was extremely flimsy.

I then took it apart to make the wall stronger.

The back 2 ft of the trailer was 1/2″ and the front half was 3/4″ plywood so I had to remove the 1/2″ and replace it with matching 3/4″ plywood.

I framed in the walls.

Then insulated them.

I added 1/4″ inside wood paneling that was nailed and glued together.  then attached it to the trailer. follow by framing out the back wall.

Framing the front wall.

The wall is the same thickness of a 2×4.

Trying to decide what to do with the pre-cut doors. I decided it would be best to fill them in and only have one door on the passenger side.

My Daughter Asia Insulated the floor and walls. Great Job!!

Special flooring with plastic coating was added. (Thank you Lance Jorgenson!) 🙂

Went Shopping to see the types of siding i can get . I found Best Way Trailer that had these samples. I looked at all types of siding from sheet of aluminum to painted steel.

I then started to build the curve by using 2 3/4″ plywood cut to the same curve. and nailing them together to get the same thickness of the 2×4.

Found some windows from a guy selling used RV parts
